School Psychologist of the Year

 For School Psychologists’ who have more than five years experience within the field. The individual must demonstrate exemplary skills in leading high-quality practices to influence positive outcomes and foster the development of others to promote effective practice

  1. Demonstrated leadership in delivering high-quality evidence-based interventions to improve individual, group and/or system outcomes.

  2. Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and communicate at the whole school or system level.

  3. Developed and facilitated partnerships in school communities to meet identified needs and build capacity.

  4. Leading professional activities that foster the development of others and promote effective practice.

  5. A statement on why the nominee is deserving of School Psychologist of the Year (500 words maximum).This may include comments on the impact, influence, and/or accomplishments of the nominee within their setting.

Who can nominate?

SPAWA will be accepting nominations from a variety of roles in education leadership including (but not limited to):

  • Principals

  • Associate/Deputy Principals

  • Lead School Psychologists/Lead Psychologists

  • Program Coordinators/Student Service Managers/Heads of Area

  • Supervisors

  • Directors

NOMINATION TIPS

  • Work collaboratively where possible with the school psychologists line manager and/or school administration leader

  • When addressing the criteria, emphasise the school psychologist's skills by incorporating specific examples employing the Situation, Action, and Outcome (SAO) framework.

  • We recommend the information on your forms nomination is saved in an alternative document (e.g. Microsoft Word) before it is submitted. Once you begin the nomination form, it cannot be saved.

  • A thorough and well considered nomination will support the panel to rate each criterion and determine the top candidate.
